Berkeley May - August 2023
Awarded $5,000 to research the architecture of refugee camps. Traveled to the West Bank and, upon return, showcased my findings through photographs at the College of Environmental Design at Berkeley.

Designed and built physical models to explore form, material, and spatial ideas, collaborating closely with the team during concept and design development phases. Developed strong hands-on fabrication skills and a creative approach to representation using Rhino, Fusion 360, CNC, laser cutters, and shop tools to prototype original concepts. Explored innovative techniques with unconventional materials and methods. Managed the model shop and oversaw all phases of production, with most models supporting internal design exploration and select work presented to clients.

Managed customer service, ceramics studio operations (including kiln loading and clay recycling), supported darkroom and screenprinting classes (restocking chemicals, assisting students, answering queries, selling equipment), communicated with instructors, facilitated evening closures. In the Creative Lab, handled event photography and designed, printed, and distributed advertising material for Student-Run Organizations.

Experienced a deep dive into all phases of construction and project management in the heart of Berlin’s historic Kurfürstendamm on the Fürst project. Project consisted of 47,000m2 of new office space and tasks LEED protocols, supervising construction processes to overseeing crane deployments.

Spent two intensive months in the kitchen of this Chinese fine dining restaurant helping prepare the fixed menu and tea pairing. Through long shifts and incredible attention to detail, learned how to navigate a high-stress environment successfully while learning the inner workings of the fine dining industry.
